Launch Your Idea

4.0 helps you turn your bold idea into a real-life proof point. As a Fellow, you’ll receive access to a national community of bold leaders, targeted coaching from our staff and alumni experts, and capital to help you run short, focused tests in your hometown.

v
Stage 1: Essentials Fellowship
Define the problem and test ways to solve it

See a need in your community but don’t know where to start? The Essentials Fellowship takes aspiring founders (like you!) from an idea on paper to a real-life experience with the families and students you want to serve. You’ll learn how to plan, run, and evaluate a one-time test of your idea (e.g. weekend pop-up). As an Essentials Fellow, you’ll get coaching from experts, a $300 grant, and a community of peers cheering you on.

v
Stage 2: Tiny Fellowship
Run a pilot and validate your best idea

The Tiny Fellowship takes aspiring founders (like you!) from an idea with early traction to a proof-point that is ready to grow. You’ll learn how to plan, run, and evaluate a recurring, part-time pilot (e.g. after-school club). As a Tiny Fellow, you’ll receive coaching from experts, a $10K grant, and a community of peers, all pushing you to run disciplined tests.

v
Stage 3: Connect to Our Community
Find your pathway

Successful 4.0 Alums have been accepted to the Echoing Green Fellowship, Camelback Ventures Fellowship, and NewSchool Venture Fund’s Invent program, among many others. As you graduate from the Tiny Fellowship, you’ll get connected to partners who can help you grow, coaching to help you apply to downstream programs, and connections to the 4.0 national community through events like 4.0’s Community Summit.
