At 4.0 Schools, we seek to provide content and resources to help you build and grow education entrepreneurship in your communities, and together we strive to innovate the future of schools. Because we deeply value your support and participation in our community, we actively and intentionally respect your privacy rights.

To demonstrate our commitment to protecting your rights, we created this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”),which explains how we treat the information collected and received from your use of our website. This Privacy Policy applies only to our website, and we are not responsible for the practices of persons, companies, or websites that 4.0 Schools does not control, manage, or employ.

What You Consent to by Using Our Website

What Information We Collect and Why We Collect It
We gather two types of information about users through our website:

You affirmatively volunteer Personally Identifiable Information when you sign up for newsletters, send us email messages, register for certain 4.0 Schools-hosted or 4.0 Schools-sponsored events, participate in surveys circulated by 4.0 Schools, apply for employment with 4.0 Schools and/or apply to participate in a 4.0 Schools program.

Among other things, we may use the Personally Identifiable Information that you provide to send you newsletters, invite you to 4.0-hosted or 4.0-sponsored events in your area, respond to your questions, send you email messages about website maintenance and updates, and inform you of significant changes to this Privacy Policy.

How We Use the Information
We use Non-Personal Information to build higher quality and more useful services for you. By conducting statistical analyses of the aggregated data, we evaluate the collective characteristics, behavior, preferences and content-curiosity of our users.

We are currently responsible for the management, administration and operations of certain programs owned by TS Startup LLC, which is a subsidiary of Techstars Central LLC (collectively “Techstars”), including “Startup Weekend Education”, “Startup Weekend NextGen Schools”, “Customer Discovery and Empathy in Education” and “Business Models in Education” (all such programs and their successors, the “Startup Weekend Programs”). We share Personal Information with Techstars, and such information may be utilized in compliance with the terms of Techstars’ privacy policy located at: Techstars Privacy Policy. We do not, and will never, otherwise disclose Personally Identifiable Information to any other third parties. We only use Personally Identifiable Information as described herein or as specifically agreed to by you.

We honor and abide all industry standards when contracting with vendors and suppliers who assist with 4.0 Schools website operation and maintenance. We enter into confidentiality agreements with all contractors who have access to your Personally Identifiable Information. Moreover, access to your Personally Identifiable Information by these contractors is limited to information reasonably necessary for the contractor to perform its limited function for us. In addition, we honor and abide all industry standards should Personally Identifiable Information be requested pursuant to subpoenas, court orders or other legal processes.

Your Personally Identifiable Information is not collected for commercial purposes, and 4.0 Schools does not, and will never, sell or otherwise distribute the information collected from our website for commercial purposes.
